The Middle East Commercial Association (MECA) is pleased to announce its participation in the 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), held on October 22-23, 2024, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Manila. Organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), this prominent event brought together leading business figures, policymakers, and industry experts to address key issues impacting the future of the Philippine economy and beyond.

The conference began with an opening address from Vice President Sara Duterte, who emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for economic growth and sustainable business practices. PCCI President Enunina Mangio highlighted PCCI’s dedication to promoting transformative initiatives that enable businesses to capitalize on emerging opportunities. This year’s theme, “Embracing Innovation, Empowering Business, Enriching Lives,” underscored the pivotal role of innovation and learning as drivers of economic growth and development.

MECA representatives actively engaged in sessions and discussions focused on sustainable growth strategies crucial for businesses aiming to succeed in today’s competitive landscape. Key topics included market access, firm competitiveness, value chain development, good governance, and global investment prospects. This gathering also allowed MECA to further strengthen its collaborative ties with the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI). MECA members met with CACCI’s Secretary-General and Secretariat, exchanging valuable insights and exploring new avenues for partnership to foster economic growth and regional cooperation.

One of the key highlights of the event was the presentation of the Philippine Business Conference (PBC) Resolution to the government, addressing objectives such as food security, human resource development, investment promotion, and job creation. This resolution was presented to Secretary Fredrick Go, the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, symbolizing the private sector’s commitment to collaborating with the government on national economic priorities.

MECA’s participation in the 50th PBC&E reflects its dedication to fostering partnerships that promote sustainable development and economic prosperity in the Middle East and beyond. The association values the opportunity to engage with the global business community and to contribute to discussions that shape economic policies and strategies. MECA remains committed to building collaborative relationships that benefit its members and advance the shared goal of regional economic growth and stability.
